I started Califashionista as a means of promoting the creative people of California who work in the fashion industry.

California has long been known for being innovative and free-spirited and the birthplace of new movements.  The iconic California lifestyle is a dream shared by millions of people around the world.  It represents hope, harmony and good weather.

We don’t always have as much as of all those things as we might like here in California, but there is no doubt that this is still the best place to live in the world.

My own background is a mix of software, apparel and marketing, having founded and operated businesses in all three industries.  For historical (vanity) purposes I keep an archival website alive of the apparel company I had in the 80’s and 90’s at www.kilnerstudio.com.  My current business provides  internet marketing services oriented to the fashion industry: www.holijoli.com.

My goal is to spread word of the creative and energetic people in California who dedicate themselves to the calling of fashion design, one of the oldest, and surely the most personal of all art forms.
